Explainer video of Lego Boost Creative Toolbox the Lego kit to build 5 different robots that come to life. See the price:

Boost is a kit to have fun with, building five different robots that come to life thanks to an app with a simple visual interface. You will learn the basics of programming and make your robots move, talk, and react to their environment.

Lego Boost has three special bricks: an interactive motor, a color and distance sensor with a light, and the Move Hub, which is the central unit and has two motors.

The Move Hub connects to your tablet via Bluetooth to receive programming codes and to the other components through cables.

Using the app as a building and programming guide, build Vernie the Robot that can walk, move, talk, and shoot or Frankie the Cat that purrs when you pet him and gets upset if you grab him by the tail. Also build and play your own musical instrument, the Guitar4000; drive the Multi-Tooled Rover, MTR 4, that performs several actions or build the AutoBuilder, a mini-factory of Lego creations.

Who is it for?

If you are between seven and twelve years old, enjoy building Lego sets, and own a compatible tablet, Lego Boost is for you.

What else does it offer?

Besides the Move Hub, the interactive motor and the color and distance sensor Lego Boost come with 843 pieces, including a brick separator tool. You will also find a poster and a playmat.
Boost combines standard Lego bricks with Lego Technic pieces, so you can use pieces and sets that you already have and, for example, motorize your Batman Boat or build other creations.

How to use / prepare / assemble it?

Download the app on your tablet. When you open it, it will ask you to place six AAA batteries in the Move Hub and connect it via Bluetooth. To begin with, the app challenges you to build small projects so that you can understand the building process and the code blocks.

Choose one of the five robots, then follow the building instructions. Along the way, you will be able to unlock skills and activities that will allow you to program with drag and drop blocks.

The app also gives you the instructions to build two base models, which are used to customize your own Lego construction projects and whatever you can imagine.
